UP employees to receive Health and Welfare Benefit

Employees of the University of the Philippines will be receiving a Health and Welfare Benefit grant with a maximum of fifteen thousand pesos (PhP15,000) starting 02 September 2016.
In a memorandum released by President Alfredo E. Pascual on 26 August 2016, he announced the authorization of the Board of Regents for a one-time, non-precedent setting benefit grant which will be available for faculty members; administrators; research, extension and professional staff (REPS); and administrative staff rendering service to the University under an employer-employee relationship.

UP researchers among ‘Philippines Promising Star’ awardees

Nine researchers from the University of the Philippines were among twelve who were recognized in The Philippines Promising Star Awards 2016. The awardees were chosen for their research works in broad fields of studies which cover social science, computer science, clinical medicine, plant and animal science, neuroscience and behavior, economics and business, molecular biology and genetics, materials science, and environment and ecology.

UP to host CNN Philippines Town Hall on 18 February

As part of the activities under the UP sa Halalan 2016 project, the University of the Philippines is hosting CNN Philippines’ Town Hall on 18 February 2016, Thursday, 2:00 p.m. at Cine Adarna, UP Film Center, UP Diliman, Quezon City.
The Town Hall will feature Presidential candidate Rodrigo Duterte and his Vice Presidential running mate Alan Peter Cayetano. It will be moderated by veteran journalist Pia Hontiveros. The Town Hall will be streamed live online via facebook.com/CNNPhilippines. UPCIDS to hold forum on Energy Supply

The University of the Philippines Center for Integrative and Development Studies (UPCIDS) will be having a public forum entitled “A Public Forum on Competitive Selection Process for Energy Supply – So the Public May Know,” on 29 September 2015 from 2 – 5PM at the Conference Room, Balay Kalinaw, University of the Philippines Diliman, Quezon City.
