Malnutrition is a multi-faceted problem and cannot be solved only by health and nutrition practitioners. It needs multidisciplinary and multisectoral but integrative approaches in order to minimize if not solve this problem. The causes of malnutrition, being multiple and complex, are better addressed with the collaborative efforts of several disciplines.

UPLB graduate school responds to UP mandates

Responding to the mandates officially spelled out in Republic Act 9500 or the new UP System Charter of 2008, which elects UP to be a research and graduate university, among other roles, the UP Los Baños Graduate School convened a faculty conference to plot the path of the school to the future.
The conference titled “Responding to the Challenges of a Research and Graduate University” was held on February 15 and 16, 2015 at the Tagaytay International Convention Center. UPD leads Philippine universities in int’l web rankings

The University of the Philippines Diliman (UPD) led universities in the country in the global ranking of universities’ web presence, impact, openness and excellence, the Spanish National Research Council’s Webometrics Ranking of World Universities 2014 reported.
UPD ranked 1604 in the world out of over 22,000 higher educational institutions included in the list. The rankings are based on publicly available web data on various universities, and uses link analysis for quality evaluation “as it is a far more powerful tool than citation analysis or global surveys,” the council’s Cybermetrics Lab said.
