Keeping its commitment to help state scholars graduate, the UP Alumni Association of Wisconsin (UPAAW) donated US$ 2,920 or about PhP 131,400 to UP’s Adopt-a-Student Program in August 2015, benefiting 13 graduating students this semester in UP Visayas Tacloban College (UPVTC), who had been affected by Typhoon Yolanda.
The award, worth P10,000 of allowances per student, is intended to help ensure that the students complete their degrees on time.

The Office of International Linkages is now accepting applications for the Academic Year 2016-2017 UP Student Exchange Programs with various international universities. Tuition is free at the host university and selected students are also recommended by UP to the respective scholarship program offered by the host university. For the members of the Junior Chamber International (JCI), the land fill in Smokey Mountain was potentially—and to use the Kevin Costner movie—a “field of dreams.” In 2010, under its president Toby P. Claudio, Jr., a 60m x 60m field was constructed in the vast area piled with garbage collected from all over Metro Manila.

The Makati City Council has approved a total budget of P3.6 million for the benefit of city scholars enrolled in the University of the Philippines (UP) and the Philippine Normal University (PNU) this school year.
Under City Ordinance No. 2014-005, P2.5 million has been allocated to the UP College Scholarship Program, while the PNU College Scholarship Program was granted P1.1 million.
The Makati City government said four more graduates, three of them with honors, have graduated from UP and the PNU.
