The Office of the Secretary of the University and of the Board of Regents announced today, the selection of University of the Philippines College of Law Dean Danilo Lardizabal Concepcion as the new President of the University of the Philippines.
Concepcion, known in his radio program Usapang de Campanilla on DZMM as ‘Danicon’, will succeed President Alfredo E. Pascual on February 2017 for a six-year term. The UP Board of Regents (BOR) is now inviting nominations for the UP President who will succeed the incumbent whose term will end on 9 February 2017.
At its 1319th BOR meeting on 28 July 2016, the Board constituted itself as the Search Committee for the next UP President.
The Secretary of the Board shall accept nominations from 18 August 2016 until 5:00 p.m. of 23 September 2016. UP President Scholarship Program
Effective in the First Semester, AY 2015-2016. Application forms are available in April 2015 from the Office of Scholarships and Student Services, Room 302, Vinzons Hall, U.P. Diliman.
1. Open to Undergraduate (except Freshman) and Graduate Filipino students in any field of study;
2. Must have a general weighted average of at least “1.75” or better.

The University of the Philippines President Alfredo E. Pascual visited the Midwest where he and his wife were guests of the UP Alumni Association of Wisconsin 40th Anniversary Celebrations in Milwaukee on July 13 as well as during the dinner of the UP Alumni Association of Greater Chicago in Rosemont, IL on 16 July.
