UP Women’s Taekwondo Team wins Championship in UAAP Season 77

With season MVP Charizza Camille Alombro leading the way, the University of the Philippines Women’s Taekwondo Team defeated De La Salle University, 5-2, winning the championship in their category.
The Lady Maroons, who last won the championship in 2002 behind Sugar Catalan, finished the season with a 5-1 slate, with the lone setback came from the hands of the former champion University of the Santo Tomas Tigresses, whose roster are filled with national team mainstays.

The University of the Philippines Fighting Maroons ended their 27-game losing streak by overwhelming the hapless Adamson University Falcons, 77-64, on Saturday at the MOA Arena in Pasay City.
Mikee Reyes led UP with 28 points, five rebounds and three assists, while JR Gallarza posted 24 points off an 8 of 12 shooting clip. Gallarza added six rebounds, three steals and two assists. Kyles Lao had 10 points, six rebounds and four assists.

UP trounces Adamson for first win in two years

The University of the Philippines (UP) Fighting Maroons withstood a last ditch effort by the Adamson Soaring Falcons to register their first win in two years, 77-64, and end a 27-game losing streak Saturday at the Mall of Asia Arena.
Veterans Mikee Reyes and JR Gallarza set new career highs with 28 and 24 points, respectively, as UP recovered from a shaky start and eventually lead by as much as 24 points in the third period.
It was UP’s first victory since August 19, 2012, a 63-48 win against the University of the East in Season 75.

UP Maroons fight to stay positive despite season struggles

Four games into Season 77 of the UAAP, it’s clear that the University of the Philippines Fighting Maroons are in for another season of struggles.
As the game clock expired on Sunday, July 27 and the final score recorded 85-71 in favor of the FEU Tamaraws, the Maroons effectively clocked in their 25th straight loss dating back to two seasons ago.

UAAP baseball: La Salle still unbeaten; UP stuns NU

De La Salle struck hardest in the ninth inning – thanks to Felix Imperal’s three-run scoring triple – to frustrate Adamson University, 4-3, and keep its record spotless in the UAAP Season 76 baseball tournament.
Imperial belted the triple to right field, scoring Edward Flores, who walked; Pocholo Dominguez, who was hit by a pitched ball; and Paul Naguit, who singled, for the Green Archers’ fourth straight victory.
The day, however, belonged to the University of the Philippines, which stunned Season 74 champions National University (NU), 11-5, to claim their first win of the season.

Maroons, Altas notch wins in Fr. Martin Cup

The University of Perpetual Help-A Altas and the University of the Philippines (UP) Fighting Maroons dispatched separate opponents last Sunday in the resumption of hostilities in the 10th Fr. Martin Collegiate Open at the Trinity University of Asia Gym.
Cameroonians Akhuetie Bright and Prince Eze fired 14 and 13 points, respectively, to power the Altas in an 80-59 rout of the Lyceum Philippines University-A Pirates.
