14 Countries Showcase Young Talents at 14th International Festival of Language and Culture

In celebration of cultural diversity and richness of talent, Manila will be host to the 14th International Festival of Language and Culture (IFLC) today, 02 February 2016 at the Newport Performing Arts Theater, Resorts World Manila. The annual cultural celebration, which is held in more than 20 countries, showcases the talents of youth representatives from around the world who exhibit their language and culture through song and dance. The Philippines is the first venue of a series of regional festivals this year.

International conference on national language in K-12 set at UP Diliman

The Filipino Departments of the University of the Philippines-Diliman, De La Salle University, University of Santo Tomas, in partnership with the Guro Formation Forum, and with the support of the Department of Education (DepEd Advisory 233 s 2013), and the Commission on Higher Education (CHED Advisory January 24, 2014), present the international conference-workshop entitled “Mother-Tongue and National Language in the K to 12 Curricular Enhancement as Framework for Development.”
The conference theme is Language, Culture, Multiculturalism, Multilingual Education and the K+12 Curriculum: Trends, Issues, Challenges, Practices. The conference-workshop will be held on November 20-22, 2014 at the UP Theater.

The ‘Indigenous’ in the Cordillera Studies Center of UP Baguio

Note: This is an abridged version of a paper read during the International Seminar Workshop on Indigenous Studies held on 26-28 June 2013 in  Mandaluyong City, Metro Manila.
The formation of the Cordillera Studies Center was made official by the 928th meeting of the UP Board of Regents on June 26, 1980. It was to be the research arm of the Development Studies Program (DSP) of the then Social Science Department (SSD) of UP College Baguio.
