Prospero E. de Vera III was appointed by President Rodrigo Roa Duterte as commissioner of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and concurrently adviser to the Government of the Philippines (GPH) negotiating panel with the National Democratic Front (NDF)/Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP)/New People’s Party (NPA). 800 New Professorial Chairs for UP Faculty

About 800 new Professorial Chair Awards and Faculty Grant Awards will be available to all academic units of the University of the Philippines starting this year.
