At 82 years old, a person such as Romulo Davide already has a lot of feathers in his cap. He is a University of the Philippines Los Baños Professor Emeritus, and a recipient of the Ramon Magsaysay Award in 2012 for his Farmer-Scientists Training Program (FSTP) to which more than anything else, he is the enduring light to many farmers all over the country. UP Cebu pays tribute to Pascual

UP Cebu (UPC) constituents thanked outgoing UP president, Alfredo Pascual, and recognized his administration’s achievements in developing the campus, through a pasidungog or tribute held on February 2, 2017 in the Performing Arts Hall of the UPC’s Lahug, Cebu City campus.

UP Cebu is now UP’s 8th Constituent University

On October 27, 2016 at its 1321st meeting, the University of the Philippines Board of Regents (UP BOR) officially approved the elevation of UP Cebu to the status of 8th constituent university (CU) of the UP System.
One of the requirements for the elevation of a college to a constituent university of the UP System, which the BOR certified in a previous meeting on May 2003, is that the proposed CU be necessary to UP, the region where it is located …

Presidential candidates lock horns in UP Cebu presidential debate

Four of the five presidential candidates—Vice President Jejomar Binay of the United Nationalist Alliance, Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte of the Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan, independent candidate Senator Grace Poe, and former Secretary of Interior and Local Government Manuel “Mar” Roxas II—went head to head on pressing issues facing the country.

UP Cebu wins Green Fashion Revolution 2014

How do you recycle discarded tarpaulins?
The students from the University of the Philippines Cebu showcased on Saturday woven tribal costumes made of tarpaulins and these designs ruled the runway.

The University of the Philippines Cebu emerged as champion in the 2014 Green Fashion Revolution, an intercollegiate environmental fashion show held at SM City Cebu on Saturday.
Van Oscar, one of the designers from UP Cebu, said it took them almost a month to prepare for the event.
The UP Cebu team received P25,000 while its adopted community, Barangay Camputhaw, will be given seed money of P40,000 to implement the students’ chosen project.
