UP designs new campus as technopreneurship hub

The University of the Philippines, the country’s national university, hopes to inaugurate by the end of the year a “technopreneurship campus” to be based in Vista City, Dasmariñas, Cavite.
Project proponent Dr. Aura Matias, who is the outgoing dean of the UP Diliman College of Engineering, said UP Alabang, situated in the Calabarzon industry growth area, would build knowledge capital and technology development specific to the needs of industry, through curricular and technology business incubation offerings.

Nagoya U sets up satellite campus at UPLB

Welcome to the Academic Year 2014-2015

This month marks the adoption of the new academic calendar for the University of the Philippines System.
Classes in the various constituent universities and unit of the university will start as follows: UP Manila – August 6; UP Diliman – August 7; UP Los Baños – August 11; UP Baguio – August 12; UP Visayas, UP Cebu and UP Mindanao – August 18; and UP Open University – August 23.

After the Storm: Learning and Rebuilding with UP’s Technical Assessment Team

On the 8th of November 2013, the world watched as Typhoon Yolanda (international name: Haiyan) tore through Guian, Samar, causing widespread flooding and landslides. Said to be the strongest storm to make landfall, the typhoon proceeded to devastate much of  central Philippines.

UP president asks constituent units to accept cross-enrollees from UP Tacloban

University of the Philippines (UP) president Alfredo Pascual has issued an urgent request to UP constituent universities to allow students from UP Tacloban to cross-enroll for the second semester.
Pascual asked the heads of the other UP units Wednesday to temporarily waive the requirements for cross-registration of students from UP Visayas-Tacloban campus “in light of the “emergency situation” caused by typhoon Yolanda.
He also asked them to accommodate the students’ transfer to other UP campuses in time for the start of classes.
